03.15.2010

I will be taking a short hiatus from this blog. This is a busy week for me and won't have time to update this blog on a daily basis until, maybe next week.

In the meantime, enjoy this video of a chimpanzee riding a segway.

03.10.2010 Poker Night

I got home pretty beat and was looking to get some good rest. Unfortunately, Patrick had some people over for some poker.

I didn't even know Patrick knew anyone, let alone people to come play poker with him. I got invited to join in, which I thought was cool. Later I found out they invited me to play so they could clean me out. Patrick swears he didn't know they were that good.

Other players included:

Cottey the Ducky

Kenny

Chicago Bears Linebacker, Brian Urlacher

Snake Eyes

The Great Muhammad Ali

NY Mets shortstop, Jose Reyes

and

A Rhino

They played well into the night.

I left before I found out who won.

I have my money on Snake Eyes, seeing as he had taken most of it when I was playing.

Before I went to bed, they all told me how they liked my Old Blue Eyes room. That was enough for me to call it a good night.

03.08.2010 The Midnight Shift

I had today off from work, but I decided to pick up some overtime and actually worked the Midnight shift. Patrick decided to go to work with me.I was hesitant about him coming with but I realized no one would be at work since it's the midnight shift, so it would be okay.

Patrick was excited to be there.

He got settled at my desk right away.

After watching me take some calls, Patrick decided to take a call.

He got the info needed and gave out the call.

After the officers cleared the call, one of them came in to see who had given the the call. Patrick met Officer Bob L. Head.

He told Patrick he did a good job. He did such a good job, Patrick got a Junior Deputy badge.

Patrick ended up going out with Officer Head for the rest of the shift and left me alone inside. After work, Patrick couldn't stop talking about his night. He had such a good time, he is thinking about becoming a cop. We'll see how long that feeling lasts.

03.06.2010 End of Winter

We woke up hungover this morning... I mean afternoon. We downed some coffee and layed about for a while. Patrick looked outside and saw how the snow has started to melt.
Patrick said he had never been in snow and wanted to check it out before it was all gone. We got off our asses, got dressed and went outside.
Patrick was really excited about his first snow experience, although it was short lived. He started getting cold so we went back inside. Maybe come next winter, he'll be better prepared.

03.05.2010 Hide & Seek

I was worried that Patrick's stay was going to be short lived. I got home today and Patrick greeted me.

He was in good spirits and said he was sorry for how he acted the last couple of days. I told him that it wasn't a big deal and that we were going to catch each other doing things we might want to see. He said he was cool with that. To show his appreciation for putting up with him, he bought me some alcohol.

We finished off the bottle in a matter of a couple hours while we talked and shared stories. I'm not going to lie, we got drunk. So drunk we thought it was a good idea to play Hide & Seek. I don't know if it was because how drunk I as, but Patrick was great at hiding!

I fell asleep hiding under the stairs. I'm not even sure if Patrick bothered looking for me this last time.I don't really care because we still had fun.

03.04.2010 Sickday

I got up this morning and Patrick was already out of the house. I think he was still feeling awkward about last night. I didn't even know people... things like Patrick could do stuff like that. I got ready and made some coffee, hoping Patrick would be home before I left. I really did want to talk to him.
Unfortunately he didn't get back before I left. I thought I'd be able to talk to him when I got out of work, but when I got home I found this.

I knocked on the door and asked if he was ok. There was no response.

I told him if he needed something, to just ask. I didn't know if I was being ignored or if he was asleep. I'm hoping it was the latter.

03.03.10 Surprise

I rushed home today so that Patrick wouldn't feel alone. I knew it must be hard adjusting to being in a new place, especially by yourself. I actually left work an hour early, picked up some beer and food in order to surprise Patrick.

When I got here, the house was dark.

I thought Patrick had left the house and forgot to turn off my laptop. As I went to turn it off, I saw something that can no longer be unseen.

Patrick yelled, "Don't look at me!" I yelled back, "SORRY!"

Seems like living with him isn't going to be as easy as I thought.
